I was born in Egypt and raised in Saudi Arabia, and I spent much of my childhood traveling across continents with my family before we eventually settled just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. A few years after moving to New England, I made my way to Washington, D.C., where I started my career as a refugee resettlement caseworker. That experience shaped a lot of how I see the world and deepened my commitment to storytelling and advocacy.
Later on, I enrolled at American University to pursue a master’s in Intercultural and International Communication, with a focus on media and social discourse. It was during that time that my love for photography and film really took off. I began to develop my visual style and found myself especially drawn to documentary work.
As a photographer and filmmaker, I’m passionate about telling the stories of immigrants—stories of resilience, courage, and often, incredible creativity. Through my work, I hope to create space for voices that deserve to be seen and heard, both in the U.S. and beyond.
